Today, we had our Harvest Festival. Bournemouth Food Bank came to talk to the children about those in need in our community. Thank you for donating gifts of food. Families and children in our area are having to use the food banks on a regular basis and all food is gratefully received. It is important for the pupils in our school to learn about kindness, generosity and gratitude. They sang Harvest Songs in church giving thanks to God for the gifts we are given. I was very proud of how sensibly the children behaved and how they were able to reflect on how their actions were helping others.
We also had some great assemblies this week. Year 4 had their first class assembly all about Autumn. They described features of Autumn and recited a poem. It was an impressive presentation considering we were not at school for the rehearsal!
Nevada and Arizona led an assembly last week about the Human Body. They had thought of some clever ways of demonstrating the various organ functions! Then Olivia and Alicia spoke to us all about Hurricanes. They discovered some very interesting facts and spoke clearly and confidently about extreme weather.
Yesterday at the Predator Football, ALL of the Year 4 and 5 boys played really well together. They had some good training sessions leading up to the matches and were able to apply those skills on the pitch.
