Our week started with Drama workshops for Reception, Year 1, 2 and 3. The workshops included role-play and improvisation. It was great for the pupils. They used their imaginations in a creative setting and had a lot of fun.
On Tuesday, Year 5 presented a wonderful WW2 assembly. They learnt a lot about life in Wartime Britain and spoke clearly and confidently about a range of artefacts. There was some brilliant acting and many children were very convincing in their roles.
We also planted some daffodil bulbs this week! It was very exciting to use the new raised flower beds (thank you SMART). All the children enjoyed getting their hands dirty and doing some gardening. There will be plenty more opportunities to plant seeds and develop the area.
The SMART team are busy arranging the Christmas Fayre at the moment. If you have any raffle prizes you would like to donate, or any contacts who would like to offer prizes please see Lucinda Spencer, Judith Ivory or Karen Erol, or address an envelope to SMART and hand it in to school.
The nativity rehearsals are well underway now. Some children will be able to use costumes from the school supply. If your child has been allocated a costume, please send in £7 in an envelope (£5 is a deposit and will be returned to you at the end of the Nativity Service and £2 we use to buy props etc). Your child should have a separate slip informing you what they will/should be wearing.
If you still have the Flu Immunisation forms or any tea-towel money or unwanted tea-towels at home, please make sure that they returned to school next week.
Finally, thank you for your ‘SPOTACULAR’ support today. The children enjoyed wearing their own clothes to school for Pudsey. Good luck (or rather break a leg) to Tabitha Spencer Williams who will be performing tonight at the Verwood Hub, in a variety performance in aid of Children In Need.
