I cannot believe that it is just one week left until half term! We have had such a fantastic start to the year with so much happening every single day, time has flown by.
This week we had our Harvest Festival. So many of you gave generously to the Foodbank and all donations were greatly appreciated. The children had fun livening up the church with their Harvest Samba. We made such an impression that we have been invited to host our Christmas Fayre in the church too! I know I shouldn’t mention Christmas, but I spent my lunch hour rummaging around in the loft for the Nativity costumes – watch this space!
We sent our Sports Captains; Claudia Edwards, Hal Hughes and Charlie Dawson to the Bronze Sports Ambassador Academy at Harewood College on Thursday. They came back with lots of fantastic ideas about how to encourage games and sports in school. Our Year 6 children take their responsibilities very seriously. They are doing a great job at being role models for the rest of the pupils.
We had another lovely assembly from two Year 4 pupils; Tilly Squires and Tamzin Dear who told us lots of interesting facts about gymnastics, (some of them whilst upside down). The girls had thought carefully about how to get the audience’s attention and keep everyone warm enough (they presented their talk outside). They did a survey asking KS2 pupil about who liked gym, and ALL pupils did! A resounding thumbs-up to Mrs Kimber, who does a wonderful job with her classes at Stokewood.
