Thank you for your support with the Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes today. If any of you want to fill more, before they are sent off around the world, there are drop off points open until Friday 18th November around Bournemouth. Our nearest one is Shoe Zone in Winton.
This week has seen a lot of Light and Colour around the school. Year 2’s have been finding out about Diwali and many classes have been creating beautiful firework pictures and crafts. Please have a look at our school Facebook page to see some of the results.
Our Year 5 boys took part in the Predator Football tournament this week at Littledown. All the boys worked hard and learnt a lot. It has a been a great opportunity for them to represent our school and we are very proud of them.
For break-time and lunchtime the grass has become too muddy for the children to play on, however for PE lessons they have been using the area and then changing their trainers before entering the building. Please provide a plastic bag to put the muddy trainers in, this will stop the rest of the uniform becoming muddy in the bag.
Phoebe Driscoll presented a fun and interactive assembly this week teaching the upper school about Tae Kwon Do. She had memorised interesting facts and engaged everyone with excellent demonstrations.
New Form Captains for the lower school are Reception Enes Turay, Year 1 Milan Chetty and Year 2 James MacLeod.
On Tuesday 8th November, we have our St Martin’s Day celebration at St Luke’s Church. As it is close to Armistice Day we also include a Service of Remembrance. We will leave school at 9am, if you would like to join us for the walk. You are also welcome to meet us at the Church at 9:15am. There is no obligation to attend, but this year the Year 5 and 6 will be singing the song they learnt in their workshop before half-term, ‘Hold Back the River’ and I know some parents were keen to see it!
