Welcome back and Happy New Year!
This term has got off to a flying start with lots of fantastic lessons and engaging activities for the pupils (and we’ve only been back three days!).
Our new music teacher, Mrs Moss, has provided some of those lessons. She has joined us from Beaconsfield High School. She is very experienced and is passionate about bringing more music into our school. Some of the music lessons she will be teaching involve learning the ukulele. It is a really easy instrument to learn and the children will be able to sing and play at the same time. It would be great over the course of the year if you could provide your child with a soprano ukulele. You can buy them for about £15 – £20 in most music shops, Argos and online. Also, if anyone has any ukuleles or African drums at home that we could borrow, they would be most appreciated.
This week Year 4 have been learning how to use a pair of compasses. They have drawn sets of concentric circles. Next week they’ll be learning about diameters and radii.
Year 3 have been writing and delivering weather reports.
Some reminders and new information:
– School starts at 8:45am when the door will be opened. To avoid disruptions to our assembly time the door will be closed at 9:00am and re-opened at 9:15am. There will be a notice on the door.
– If your child has been sick due to illness or experienced diarrhoea please keep them home for 48 hours.
At the end of the term we will be having another Dance and Talent Show. All children will be involved in their class dance, but there will be an opportunity for pupils to audition for a space in the show with their own talents. Last year’s show had such a variety. Look out for more details to follow.
