After 2 weeks of auditions, I am pleased to announce that the winner of our Talent Show was Tabitha Spencer-Williams (Year 4). For her prize, she gets to be Headteacher for the day. I can’t wait – she’ll be great! She performed a beautiful dance that we’ll all get to see in the Show on the 5th of April.
All of the children who auditioned had a lot of fun and displayed so much confidence and talent. There will be a range of the talents performed in the show, but everyone who took part is to be congratulated. The School Council did a great job judging the acts too. Well done!
Yesterday was our Jump for Heart sponsored skip event. Sponsor money is due in to school on Wednesday 22nd of February, so you’ve got half-term to get collecting. Lots of the children learnt new skills and tried out new skipping tricks.
We had two assemblies this week, which were brilliant. Year 3’s assembly was all about Light. They showed us their rainbow art work, recited a poem, sang a song, played the glockenspiel and shared their scientific knowledge. Ollie and Parker (Year 4) then presented a fabulous assembly about Cars. They were brilliant, disguised as the Stig! They gave us facts, figures and fun!
I have now updated our Events Calendar online. More details for the Important Dates will be given after half term, but one to take note of is the Vintage Fayre/ Jumble Sale. Please use the half-term as an opportunity to have a ‘sort out’ and bag up any unwanted clothes! The SMART team will be asking for donations on Friday 10th March.
Multicultural Day has been moved to Wednesday 15th March. On this day we will be asking children to dress up in traditional costumes from countries around the world. You can choose which country they can represent. There are lots of ideas online and thought you would appreciate the heads-up!
