This week our school uniform problem has finally been resolved. Our new supplier is PMG Schoolwear. They have shops in Poole and in New Milton, and have an online service (pmgschoolwear.co.uk), which will be fully accessible next week. I have been assured that our new uniform will not encounter the same issues we had with John Lewis and Star Soccer. I am sorry for the inconvenience of not having certain items in various sizes for the last 6 months. Some of the bespoke aspects of our uniform have been impossible to source for such a small school and we have not able to match certain items for our new uniform. The pinafore, summer dress, shirts, trousers and shorts will all be the same, but the blazer, jumper, bag, PE kit and raincoat will all have a new logo. Unfortunately, we have not been able to secure a hat/cap supplier. However, we have added a winter fleece hat and summer cap. Once all the items are available I will put together a new uniform list, but old-style uniform will be accepted until September 2018.
This week we had a wonderful Multicultural Day. The children were put into mixed age groups and learnt about seven different cultures during the day. I was so impressed with how well everyone worked together.
Nick from Gallone’s Ice Cream Parlour came in to represent Italy. He brought 6 flavours of ice creams all coloured yellow (to show how much we “eat with our eyes”). There were wacky-experimental flavours such as Grass, Parma Violets and Tomato Ketchup!!!
A special mention this week goes to Daniele Barbuto-Smith who has won the Tech-Camp STEM Challenge Competition (a national competition). His prize is a one-day course at a Tech-Camp venue of his choice! Pupils in Year 5 and 6 were encouraged to submit a new invention idea. Lots of the ideas were brilliant. Sami El-Basir reached the final and Amelia Allen’s invention received a prize too.
