We’ve had a busy couple of weeks since half term! I was away on the School Residential at Osmington Bay before that and so have missed a few weeks!
Sports Day last Friday was a wonderful event. The children all did incredibly well on the day and the weather was perfect. The events went smoothly and there were some very exciting races!
This week Year 5 had their main summer outing to Poole Park where they learnt how to sail with the Rockley Watersports instructors. They had a great time and really enjoyed learning new skills. Some of Year 5 also went to a Kwik Cricket Festival. The team played well. They won 2 matches and lost 2 coming 2nd overall. A special mention goes to Ishaan Gupta, who was awarded Player of the Tournament.
Mrs Martin came in for a visit on Wednesday with some dry ice. The Year 6’s were able to do some experiments and observe what happened when it mixed with different liquids. The Reception class and Year 1’s also had the opportunity to see a ‘cloud’ up close.
Year 1 also presented a lovely assembly. They have been reading ‘The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark’, and performed the story with great acting and confidence.
And finally today …. this morning Year 4 and some Year 3 pupils went to the Pavilion to sing at the Bournemouth Music Festival. We entered the Songs from the Show and Films Category. They came joint 2nd with the Priory School, a fantastic achievement as this is the first time we have ever entered any competition like it.
Then the rest of the day we’ve been building dens to support Den Day and Save the Children. Lots of fun was had creating shelters and decorating some super structures!
Tomorrow is our Summer Fayre. Please come along and join in the fun.
PS. Please note that this year we will be having a Summer Gala, End of Year performance at Bournemouth School for Girls on Friday 30th June 2017 6:15pm – 8:00pm. ALL of the children will be involved in this and you are all welcome to come and watch. The end of year songs will feature here rather than at Prize Giving.
