Well, we have made to the final week of the school year!!!!!
Thank you for your support during the year. I was looking back through the previous newsletters and was reminded of the amount of workshops, days out, assemblies, events and achievements we have had this year! Your children have worked incredibly hard across the board. Not only have they made great academic progress, they have excelled in such a wide range of activities. It has been a privilege to watch them flourish.
We had an amazing time at the Summer Concert on Friday. The children were superb and all gave fantastic performances! It was wonderful to see the confidence of the pupils. Since Easter, they have worked so hard in their music lessons to create an outstanding show. Mrs. Southcombe, Mr. Holloway and Mrs. Moss should all be congratulated for composing, rehearsing and performing songs with the children and truly bringing out the best in them.
On Friday, we also had the first St Martin’s Cross Country Event at Meyrick Park. Years 3 and 4 ran half a mile and Years 5 and 6 ran a mile. Many of the children were feeling quite daunted by the thought of running such a long way, but they did really well and all of them managed it. Thank you to our marshals, and Mrs Male for organising the afternoon.
On Thursday, we had the most thought provoking assembly of the year. Sebby Roffey and Callum Goodwin spoke to the upper school about homelessness. They talked about the reasons why people may end up homeless and how many people living on the streets are ex-servicemen. They showed two very touching videos on how we can help the situation and you should have received some information in your child’s bag. The boys delivered some sensitive information in a very mature manner.
This week I will be putting out the LOST PROPERTY before school and after school on the table. Please check it. The children have been shown the items in assembly, but there are still a lot of things left in the box!
