Aims, Ethos & Academic Success

Our Aims

Resilience, Good Manners, Respect, Compassion

At St Martin’s we aim to teach our pupils the benefits of hard work and resilience both in and outside of the classroom. Great emphasis is placed on good manners, respectful conduct and demonstrating compassion for others, all within a Christian ethos.

Our Ethos

Small class sizes lie at the core of the St Martin’s philosophy, helping teachers to celebrate the uniqueness of each child and enable a personalised learning journey.

Our children flourish in a friendly and supportive environment, where both effort and achievements are recognised and celebrated. The relationship between staff and pupils is warm and respectful, and a happy purposeful atmosphere engages all learners.

Academic Success

At St Martin's School, every child receives an individualised education, enabling them to reach their full academic potential.

In the academic year of 2024-2025, of the children who elected to take the 11+ entrance exam, we celebrated a 100% pass rate.

Additionally, many of our children go on to receive scholarship offers for PE, Music and Drama at local independent secondary schools.
